PPC Part A sites include some of the most environmentally significant sites regulated by us - around 500. Across the PPC, Waste and Water regimes, there are approximately 175,000 granted authorisations, of which the PPC Part A permits form around 500. 

Yes, we do hold authorisations for Scotland’s largest chemical and industrial sites. These sites will generally hold PPC Part A Permits issued under the Pollution Prevention & Control (Scotland) Regulations 2012 (‘PPC’).

Documentation received or issued before January 2021 is not readily available. If such documentation is requested, we will provide the best information we currently have available but can’t confirm it is complete or accurate. Any use made of this information will be at the requester’s own risk. You can request this documentation through our access to information service.

We are at the early stages of a project to create a new online digital Public Register service as part of our digital transformation. We intend to make most of our regulatory documents and data publicly available online through this service, going beyond the regime specified public register requirements.
